Oath Workshops
Want to be a better ally in the outdoors? At its heart, The Outdoorist Oath Workshops share an educational model that wraps up in an action-based commitment, ahem, an Oath, for Planet, Inclusion, and Adventure (PIA).
The workshop guides you through a) understanding why PIA are the pillars upon which we ground this work, b) key reflections that will allow you to create a personalized plan of action for PIA, and c) an introduction to wayfinding or using nature’s examples as moving and thinking methodologies. Lastly, anyone who attends is welcome to officially “Take The Oath” with us at the top of the workshop.
Stretch Sessions
Stretch Sessions…we loved this phrase as soon as co-founder José Gonzalez offered it up to us. These sessions will be hosted both virtually and in-person, and they are an opportunity to stretch out on the many themes that support our commitment to Planet, Inclusion, and Adventure! Folks who have taken The Outdoorist Oath continuously ask us for more, and so this is more, more opportunities to learn and unlearn, to nurture our joy and understanding of the world around us. Everyone is invited to attend live, and as always, it’s free to join us. Recordings of the sessions will not be available at this time. Topics covered are inspired by Oath Workshops and our communities’ interests.

Boundaries and Vulnerability in Nature
Together we will explore vulnerability as it relates to being outside :)
In this session you will learn tools to:
Better establish boundaries or talk with others when on the trail/outdoors
Find resources for how to assess your own limits while trying new activities visiting new areas in nature
Create a ritual/bond with nature ancestrally and intuitively.

Ecofeminist Radical Imagination
In a recent digital tool-kit launch: Ecofeminism + Environmental Liberation, IE explores how environmental and human-made disasters impact women, femmes, non-binary, and gender-fluid people acutely via the history of ecofeminism + key ecofeminism liberation movements through an intersectional lens. Join us in a session where we unpack the presence of radical imagination in ecofeminist history - past, present + emerging.
Stretch Session: White Supremacy
In this session, Serena Ryan, Ruth Castillo, Mardi Fuller, and Kathy Chau Rohn from Summits in Solidarity will offer a glimpse into the practical, ethical, and emotional challenges they face as they work to identify and dismantle white supremacy in the organization.
Attendees (you!) will have the opportunity to reflect on your journey to becoming an anti-racist change-maker in your spheres of influence—whether you have started an organization like SiS or engage in activism in any form. What stumbling blocks, tensions, or challenges have you encountered? Are there elements of white supremacy that you are unsure how to navigate, or that are preventing you from taking action? How can we learn from each others’ experiences to inform our future actions?
Stretch Session: Empowering Access
Empowering Access: Inclusivity in the Outdoors with Disability Leaders. Have you ever wondered: What barriers prevent folk with disabilities from accessing the outdoors? How can I be an ally for the disability community? How can I directly work to create more accessible and inclusive spaces? Join Disability Leaders & The Outdoorist Oath for a motivating, thought-provoking and educating presentation + conversation hosted by elite para-triathlete, LGBTQ+ advocate, and disability rights activist Kyle Stepp, where we’ll learn how to create more accessible and inclusive outdoor experiences for the disabled community. Education session will be followed by (optional) community climbing and connections
Stretch Session: Intersectional Identity
Get ready for an exhilarating journey into the dynamic world of intersectional identity and its profound implications for those Outdoorists everywhere! In this workshop, you'll embark on a transformative exploration of how your multifaceted identities intersect and impact your engagement with outdoor recreation.

Stretch Session: Wayfinding
For this Wayfinding Stretch Session we'll be expanding into additional ways of Wayfinding, bringing in some movement, poetry, and reflection. Our intent will be to align this to action and continue to create and be part of thriving meadows.
