The Outdoorist Oath and Pattie Gonia alongside trusted allies Outside’s Gear Up Give Back program and local collaborator The Gear Fix invite the Bend, OR community to an evening of gear swaps, gear repairs, gear giveaways, and celebrating our love for the outdoors!

Yes, we want you to come hang with us….

Here are all the juicy deets for the event!

• This is a FREE event! Though we encourage folks to RSVP and donate.

• Swap used gear w/ community members. Everyone can participate, regardless of whether or not you bring items to swap!

• The GearFix will be hosting DIY patch and zipper repair workshops

• Come connect with local non-profits to learn how you can take action for planet, inclusion, and adventure in your community!

• Win prizes from outdoor & local brands

• This event will be hosted by Pattie Gonia with support from The Outdoorist Oath, GearFix, and Outside

• All unswapped items at the end of the night will be donated to Outside's Gear Up Give Back program which helps support The Oath's free educational resources and events!

FAQ:

• How will the GEAR SWAP work?

  • We’ll ask all swappers to let us know you are brigning something (no need for details, just to figure out our space needs) via Eventbrite RSVP.

  • All swap items will be donation-based.

  • No moneys will be exchanged for swap items.

  • Swap items can be dropped off early leading up to the event at The Gear Fix (during biz hours).

  • Help us by finding a spot for your gear on designated tables. Make it look cute ;)

  • Upon check in, everyone will have access to swap items to keep the event equitable.

  • Swap items that don’t find a home by 7pm, will be donated to Outside’s Gear Up Give Back program @ The Gear Fix.

  • If you donate gear to the swap, you’ll receive an additional giveaway ticket to win prizes from our amazing sponsors!

  • All swap items must be brought in clean conditions. We reserve the right to deny dirty items to maintain the integrity of other items.

  • All seasons gear welcome.

• What if I don't have any gear to bring?

  We still want you here! You’ll be able to enjoy connecting with local nonprofits, win prizes, learn from the repair station, grab some new-to-you gear from the swap, and connect with the community!

• What gear can I bring to get repaired?

  Any zipper malfunctions or fabric tears are welcome to The Gear Fix’s repair station!

• Why can't I sell my gear during the swap?

  We want to create a culture of trust and sharing. Think of this as the mutual aid of gear: giving because we can, taking because we need, and nothing else.

  What is mutual aid? Glad you asked.

• Can I table at the event?

  Please DO! If you are an aligned brand, group, or nonprofit we have tabling spaces as well as sponsorship opportunities available! And trust us, WE WANT YOU THERE!

  Nonprofits and not-for-profits are welcome to sponsor the event but can also table FREE of cost.
