Oath team finally meets IRL!
After nearly 9 months of collaborating and working together exclusively in a virtual capacity, the current Oath team – Pattie (Sponsorships/Facilitator), José (Education/Facilitator) , Hanna (Communications), Maya (Admin/Facilitator) , and Gabaccia (that’s me! ED/Facilitator) – finally got to spend some time working off the screens!
We had the opportunity to extend our stay in Boulder with the excuse of our first-ever in person Stretch Sessions event. It was a beautiful backdrop – the Ancestral lands of the Cheyenne, Arapahoe, Shoshone, and many other Indigenous peoples – to bond, co-conspire, plan for the future of The Oath, work on some workshop improvements, and have fun celebrating recent wins. We also took the opportunity to take our first-ever team photos! Goodbye to the good ol’ team collages and hello to “we’ve met and actually work together and can take really amazing awkward fam photos ;)”
I’m really proud to say the team’s chemistry and camaraderie were not just a Zoom spell. It feels great to connect with everyone in a new way, to continue to build community and to celebrate together the work we’ve been so lucky to partake in. It was just a beautiful reminder of how important offline/irl/in person time is not just for us to get even more creative and inspired by each other, but for us to be in community with y’all and continue to plan and develop in-person programs.
Above all, we celebrated having YOU, our community, showing up to take action for Planet, Inclusion, and Adventure in so many ways that defy our biggest dreams. Thank you for letting us be a part of your journey and thank you for bringing us together.
With that, I guess y’all will vet our awkward portraits the best so…please enjoy this sneak peek (click to expand):
Special thanks to Roberto Flores for being our extra patient and supportive volunteer photographer.
