General Event Description: “Iluminando Las Montañas” is a family luminaria event and public lands celebration centered on bringing the community of Las Cruces together in recognition of the holiday season and the public lands we call home. The practice of lighting homes, paths, and places of importance with luminarias is a deeply-rooted tradition in New Mexico dating back more than 300 years ago. They bring light to the darkest time of the year, while also drawing communities together in unity and celebration.
