Advocating for PIA Action at Outside Fest

Back in June, we were invited by Outside Fest to come table and connect with festival goers. We are so appreciative of the opportunity to continue to connect with outdoorists, advocate for action for planet, inclusion, and adventure, and encourage those ready to take the next step to join us at our next workshop!

We were joined by an amazing group of Troublemakers who volunteered their time to help us interact with as many of you as possible!

Big shoutouts to Mallory, Dory, Megan, and Luis for helping run the booth and connect folks to our PIA work :)

Being in the non-profit section of the event, we were so honored to be in good company with so many amazing non-profits doing great work locally and across the country for planet, inclusion, and adventure! From protecting our country’s beautiful landscapes to helping kids get outside locally, our new friends from all these amazing orgs and living The Oath and inspiring all to do the same.

Outside x The Outdoorist Oath: Gear Up Give Back

We are so grateful to be the beneficiaries of Outside’s Gear Up Give Back Program. This program not only supports the work we do, but also supports a culture of sustainability, accessibility, and community.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Find items that are still in good condition (easy fixes like holes, zippers, etc OK) that you simply don’t want anymore

  2. Head to THIS LINK to print out your FREE shipping label

  3. Pack all your items and mail it

  4. Your items will go to The Gear Fix in Bend, Oregon- a local used gear and repair store. They will repair your items to get them retail ready.

  5. GearFix will then sell your item at their store and the money goes to us, The Outdoorist Oath!

So that old backpack in the back of your closet can turn into a great piece of gear to help get someone new outside AND funding for The Oath to continue its free online and in-person programming to support action for planet, inclusion, and adventure!
